Our school is situated in the attractive rural village of Shipton-by-Beningbrough close to the historic city of York. As the only Anglican Methodist School in North Yorkshire, there is a distinctive Christian ethos celebrating its’ uniqueness.
Our spacious, well-resourced accommodation was built in 1986 replacing the Victorian schools in Shipton, Newton and Tollerton. It is a beautiful site with a large playing field, trees, wildlife area, astro turf area, outdoor play equipment and two playgrounds.
As a school, we are "dedicated to excellence,” endeavouring to provide a rich, diverse and exciting learning environment for children within the context of a happy, caring Christian community. It is our aim to ensure that all our children achieve their full potential academically, socially, physically, emotionally and spiritually during this very important part of their lives.
The contents of this website will give you an outline of the structure and organisation of our school and the broad aims of the curriculum. However, only a personal visit will make you fully aware of the special ethos of our school. Please contact school to arrange a visit.
Confidence in a school comes from knowing and understanding what is happening within it. We hope that when children are with us that parents and carers will extend their knowledge through contact and discussions with school, and take advantage of the occasions provided for consultations and the sharing of events. We seek to work in partnership with parents and carers recognising that the education of a child will flourish if there is a mutual understanding and trust between parent and teacher.
I look forward to meeting and working with you.
